At the beginning of a groundwater investigation, existing information and local conditions are collected and evaluated. This step helps to build a first conceptual understanding of the area before more detailed technical studies are carried out.

3. Local knowledge and experience

Information from local users, operators, or historical records is collected to complement technical data. Although this information is not sufficient on its own for decision-making, it can provide valuable indications about seasonal variations, water availability, and long-term trends.
